Presentation:
“Machine Learning Algorithms for Analysis of Omics Data”.

Bio:
Dr. Li Xing is an assistant professor in the Mathematics and Statistics Department at the University of Saskatchewan. She works in developing machine learning algorithms and statistical models for big complex data, especially for genomic data.

She obtained her Ph.D. in Statistics at UBC and M.Sc. in Statistics at SFU. In her past working experience as a statistician, she worked for multiple research institutions at the University of Victoria, the University of British Columbia, and Johns Hopkins University. She also worked for the Food and Drug Admission, USA as a statistical reviewer to evaluate biosimilar drug submission. As a postdoc-fellow, she was supported by NSERC postdoc fellowship to work on machine learning algorithms for brain imaging data and genomic data from multiple studies.
