HLI COVID –19 Protocol – January 2022
- With Omicron spreading rapidly it appears that many more staff and faculty members have experienced COVID-19 or have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive.
- Vaccinations, proper fitting masks, physical distancing and hand hygiene still remain the best defense against all COVID-19 variants. It is important to be mindful of relevant guidelines and requirements should you become infected with COVID -19.
- If you have tested positive: You must self-isolate and manage your symptoms, notify your manager and any close contacts, who you were with in the two days prior to having symptoms.
- If you have been exposed (and are either asymptomatic or symptomatic) please quarantine for a minimum of five (5) days. To return to work at HLI, you are asked to take a rapid antigen test and produce a negative test result prior to your return.
- Please seek out an appropriate test location for your rapid antigen test. HLI currently has a very limited supply of tests available to HLI members who have tested positive and are now asymptomatic and planning to return to work. Contact Claire.Smits@hli.ubc.ca.
- Whether you have been exposed to COVID-19 or not, please speak with your manager to determine if your job can accommodate you temporarily working remotely or if you can reduce your time on site.
- If you are sick or not feeling well, leave your lab or office immediately and stay home until you are completely asymptomatic.
Core Symptoms:
- Cough
