Happy Holidays, everyone!
Looking for a way to give back this season? It’s getting cold outside, so we are collecting donations of warm clothes and other items for those in our community who need them. See the full list below.
Drop your donations off in the James Hogg Conference Centre (formerly Gourlay) from now until first week of January. If you have a (large) shopping bag you can bring with your donation, that would be very helpful as well for transporting.
Donations will be given to the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre and Union Gospel Mission.
Most Needed:
- Socks
- Underwear (new)
- Long underwear
- Winter shoes/boots
- Rain ponchos
- Winter jackets
- Pants
- Hoodies, fleece, sweaters
- Gloves
- Warm winter hats
- Shampoo and conditioner
- Soap (small hotel bars are fine)
- Toothbrush and toothpaste
- Razors and shaving cream
- Deodorant
- Feminine hygiene products
Other Items Accepted:
- Blankets (no duvets)
- Sleeping bags
- Pillows
- Combs & hairbrushes
- Make-up
- Reusable mugs with lids
- Reusable water bottles
- Hand sanitizer
- $25 grocery gift cards (Loblaws, London Drugs, Safeway, Walmart)
Note: underwear and toiletries must be new. Clothing can be new or gently used and washed.
