TAHLI and HLI EDI Committee are teaming up with UBC’s Research Excellence Clusters’ Rock the Boat program to hold a session on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Rock the Boat sessions include watching videos of dramatized situations that highlight various challenges that can occur in supervisory relationships, and promote dialogue. Discussions will be held based on the videos, focusing on fostering healthy and respectful supervisory relationships.
For this specific session, we’ll be watching a video called “No Other Choice” which focuses on the balance of professional and personal responsibilities, and how that can influence wellbeing.
We will start with a special Vaisakhi and Nowruz celebration lunch at 11:30 AM, with an opportunity to participate in the Chaharshanbe Suri “Jumping over fire” tradition. The Rock the Boat session will then go from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
